WINONA, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's outdoor track and field team competed in three meets this weekend to qualify competitors for Division III nationals.
Blugold athletes competed at the North Central Last Chance at North Central College (Ill.), the La Crosse Last Chance at UW-La Crosse and the Winona State Qualifier at Winona State University (Minn.).
On Thursday and Friday, the Blugolds sent competitors to North Central College to compete in the North Central Last Chance meet.
Two Blugolds provisionally qualified for nationals in the 10,000-meter run. Kevin Hall (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) qualified with a time of 30:35.42, while Tom Breitbach (So.-Muskego, Wis.) finished in 30:44.65.
On Friday, some competitors headed to UW-La Crosse for the La Crosse Last Chance meet.
In the field, Joe Lilek (So.-Tomahawk, Wis.) provisionally qualified for nationals in the shot put with a throw of 15.50 meters (50-10.25).
On the track, the 4x400 meter relay team also provisionally qualified, finishing in 3:15.07.
To finish off the weekend, several competitors traveled to Winona State University for the Winona State Qualifier.
In Winona, Lilek again met the provisional qualification mark with a toss of 15.47 meters (50-9.25) in the shot put.
The team will return to action in La Crosse for another last chance meet next Thursday, May 20. Events will begin at 3 p.m.
