Seven Blugolds Earn All-WIAC Awards

MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its baseball awards for the 2026 season, based on voting by the conference coaches. Seven University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire baseball student athletes have been named to their respective teams for their performances during the 2026 season.

Nicholas Meuser earned his second conference award of his career after being named an All-WIAC Honorable Mention last year and the lone Blugold to earn First Team All-WIAC this year. Meuser led Blugold pitchers with 51 strikeouts this season while posting a 4-3 record and a 3.53 ERA. In conference play, the right handed junior earned a 3-2 record and ranked 4th overall in WIAC play with a 2.21 ERA. Nicholas also ranked in the top-10 in the league in least hits allowed (28), strikeouts (35), and innings pitched (40.2). 

Five other Blugolds were named to the All-WIAC Honorable Mention team for the first time in their careers. Kellen Smith received his first WIAC awards after ranking 12th in the WIAC in batting average (.343) and hits (36). Smith was also tied for first overall in the league in total doubles (11), tied for 11th in total bases (59), and ranked 11th in stolen bases (11). Austin Buck was also named to the Honorable Mention team while ranking tied for 1st in the WIAC in fielding assists (77), 2nd in fielding double plays (23), and tied for 6th in runs scored (30). Sebastian De La Toba finished his season ranked 14th overall in ERA (4.13), 10th overall in least hits allowed (32), and tied for 4th in WIAC wins (4) to earn a spot on the Honorable Mention team. 

Will Johnson was named to the Honorable Mention team after ranking tied for 11th in total bases (59), 5th overall in hits (40), 15th overall in batting average (.336), and tied for 16th in RBI's (21). John DiGregorio was the final Blugold named to the Honorable Mention team after posting a season of 34 hits, 8 home runs, and a .281 batting average.

Ryan Casimier was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for his leadership and sportsmanship throughout the season, as well as being an integral part of the Blugolds' roster.
