DES MOINES, Iowa & EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire had a remarkable showing across two events, with standout performances at the 116th Drake Relays in Des Moines and the home Dick & Mary Johnson Invite.
Hurdles
At the Drake Relays,
Blake Postler secured 4th place in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 50.85, while
Daylan Berger finished in 15th place with a time of 53.97. In Eau Claire,
Daylan Berger also excelled, taking first place in the Men's 400 Hurdles, clocking in at 53.67. Additionally, in the Men's 110 Hurdles Finals,
Tyler Botz placed second with a time of 14.65, and
Nate Boettner finished third in 15.54.
Sprints
Bruce Burau led the charge at the Dick & Mary Johnson Invite, finishing first in the Men's 100 Meters Finals with a time of 10.99, while Gavin Moore secured third place in 11.06.
Connor Jankuski won the Men's 200 Meters in 21.95, with Gavin Moore again placing third with a time of 22.23.
Middle Distance
Noah Kundert claimed first place in the Men's 800 Meters at the Johnson Invite, finishing in 1:53.28.
Distance
Max Adams finished sixth in the Men's 1500 Meters at the Invite, recording a time of 4:02.56.
Relays
The Blugolds 4x100 Relay team finished 7th in the finals at the Drake Relays with a time of 41.07 after placing 8th in the preliminaries with a time of 41.18. In the 4x400 Relay, the team placed 4th in the finals with a time of 3:11.55, having finished 8th in the preliminaries with a time of 3:12.94.
Jumps
At the Johnson Invite,
Leo Orlikowski won the Men's High Jump with a height of 2.01m, while
Brad Roe finished third at 1.91m.
Brett Ellis secured third place in the Men's Triple Jump with a mark of 13.04m.
Throws
Gage Stankiewicz had an impressive day, achieving 3rd place in the Shot Put at the Drake Relays with a mark of 18.37m (60' 3.25"). He also won the Men's Shot Put at the Johnson Invite with a throw of 18.01m and finished third in the Men's Discus with a mark of 51.03m.
Soren Johnson placed sixth in the Men's Hammer with a distance of 52.06m.
Looking ahead, the Blugolds will compete at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 1st and 2nd in La Crosse, Wis.
