New Orleans, La. - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's track & field team earned a spot on the 2026 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic Award in NCAA Division III, the organization has announced Monday. UWEC finished with a 3.28 cumulative grade point average in 2026.

The Blugolds finished in fifth place at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship while maintaining a 3.28 cumulative grade point average. UW-Eau Claire finished the Outdoor Championships with 34 points. Head Coach Chip Schneider just finished up his 23rd season at the helm of the men's program.

15 members of UWEC's men's team were named to the 2026 USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Team.

Ola Adetunji (biochem), Daylan Berger (exercise science), Johnny Botsch (dentistry- pre-professional), Tyler Botz (business- finance), Izaak Clendenning (biomedical engineering), Jacob Hackbarth (exercise science), Connor Jankuski (exercise science), Soren Johnson (music- applied voice), Cameron Pease (exercise science), Evan Peterson (business- finance), Blake Postler (social work), Brad Roe (business- finance), Garrett Rottier (math- statistics), Jackson Schulz (biology), and Fischer Wait (exercise science) all received honors.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 and met at least one of the following athletic standards: have finished the indoor or outdoor season ranked in the national top 50 of an individual event or in the national top 35 of a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order list on TFRRS; or competed in the NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship.
