LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire participated in the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge, securing multiple top finishes including a pair of first-place marks in the men's 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles by
Blake Postler, while
Jace Stolte earned second in the men's decathlon with 6,859 points.
Sprints
Reilly Templeton placed second in the Men's 200 Meters with a time of 20.96 and fourth in the Men's 100 Meters finals with 10.70. The Blugolds had multiple entries in both events, with Templeton leading the team in the 100 Meters preliminaries as well, placing ninth with a time of 10.63.
Middle Distance
In the Men's 800 Meters,
Jack Wanezek achieved eighth place with a time of 1:54.29.
Distance
UWEC's top finisher in the Men's 10,000 Meters was
Jack Nelson, who took 27th place with a time of 32:09.93.
Ian Barnes placed 10th in the Men's 3000 Steeplechase with a time of 9:31.98.
Hurdles
Blake Postler excelled in the Men's 110 Hurdles finals, securing first place with a time of 13.99, setting a new UWEC record. He also displayed his prowess in the Men's 400 Hurdles with a victorious time of 51.04, breaking his own school record in the process.
Jumps
In the Men's Pole Vault,
Johnny Botsch placed sixth with a mark of 4.82m.
Throws
Soren Johnson finished fourth in the Men's Discus with a throw of 50.70m.
Adam Beck took fifth place in the Men's Hammer with a mark of 56.67m.
Decathlon
Jace Stolte secured second place in the Men's Decathlon with 6859 points.
Jacob Hackbarth followed with a fourth-place finish, accumulating 6483 points.
The Blugolds will continue their Outdoor season next weekend when they hit the road for the Drake Relays on April 24 and 25. UW-Eau Claire will also host the Dick & Mary Johnson Invitational on Saturday, April 25 at Simpson Field. First events are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
