LA CROSSE, Wis. / WAVERLY, Iowa — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire showcased their talent across multiple events at both the UW-La Crosse NCAA Indoor Final Qualifier and the Wartburg Qualifier. Highlighted by impressive individual performances, the Blugolds secured several event victories and notable finishes.
Sprints
At the UW-La Crosse NCAA Indoor Final Qualifier,
Reilly Templeton secured first place in the Men's 200 Meters with a time of 21.86, while Nick Odom finished eighth at 22.22.
Middle Distance
Jack Wanezek won the Men's 800 Meters at La Crosse with a time of 1:55.37.
Cameron Pease took third in the Men's 400 Meters with a time of 49.40, followed by
Fischer Wait in seventh at 50.04.
Distance
In the Men's Mile at La Crosse,
Noah Kundert finished in seventh place with a time of 4:24.81, and
Cameron Valcich followed in eighth at 4:29.68.
Hurdles
Blake Postler claimed first place in the Men's 60 Hurdles finals at La Crosse with a time of 7.97, and
Tyler Botz finished fourth at 8.31. Postler also led the preliminaries with a time of 8.08, followed closely by Botz in second at 8.14.
Jumps
Brad Roe placed sixth in the Men's High Jump at La Crosse with a mark of 1.93m, while
Leo Orlikowski was eighth at 1.88m. In the Men's Pole Vault,
Liam Neis took 12th place with a mark of 4.25m.
Throws
Gage Stankiewicz won the Men's Shot Put at La Crosse with a mark of 18.01m, and
Soren Johnson placed fourth in the same event with 16.57m. Stankiewicz also took third in the Men's Weight Throw with a mark of 18.37m, and
Evan Peterson finished sixth at 17.63m.
Relay
The Blugolds team won the Men's 4 x 400 Relay at La Crosse with a time of 3:21.51.
Heptathlon
At the Wartburg Qualifier,
Jamie Reeve secured a second-place finish in the men's heptathlon with a score of 4,558 points.
Looking ahead, UW-Eau Claire will await the list of competitors for the 2026 NCAA Track & Field Indoor Championships to be announced on Sunday, March 8 on NCAA.com. The two-day championship will be held in Birmingham, Ala. on March 13 and 14 at the Birmingham Cross Plex.
