Webb Named Defensive Line Coach for Blugold Football

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (www.blugolds.com) - University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire head football coach, Rob Erickson, has announced the hiring of Brendan Webb as the Blugolds' new defensive line coach for the 2026 season.

Before arriving in the Chippewa Valley, Webb spent the 2025 season at NCAA Division II Black Hills State as the Yellow Jackets' defensive line coach and film coordinator. While in Spearfish, S.D., Webb coached two Rocky Mountain All-Conference players.

Prior to Black Hills State, Webb coached for one season at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis. as the Green Knights defensive line coach. During the 2024 season, SNC ranked first overall in total defense, second overall in opponent's first downs, and was a top 5 defense in the nation in 3rd and 4th down percentages. Brendan coached two NCAC All-Conference players during his time at De Pere.

"We are thrilled to add Coach Webb to our staff.," Erickson said. "Being an athlete that played at the highest level and having a very productive collegiate career, he brings a natural expertise to the position group. He is also an excellent communicator, passionate coach, a detailed teacher and will do a great job of leading our defensive line."

As a player, Webb spent four years at the University of South Dakota where he started at numerous positions on the defensive side of the ball. During his time as a Coyote, Brendan earned Associated Press and AFCA All-America honors as well as being named to the MVFC All-Conference First Team. After his senior year, Webb invited to the San Francisco 49ers mini-camp in Santa Clara, California.

Brendan graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and currently lives in Eau Claire with his girlfriend, Daisy.
