Orlando, Fla. - UW-Eau Claire opened the day with a dominant 7-0 victory, showing strength in doubles and sweeping singles to secure a flawless win. The Blugolds battled hard from the first point and came away with key wins across the lineup.
Doubles play started with mixed results. Peyton Sheffert and Ethan Heidtke dropped a 6-2 decision at No. 1, but Avery Ellison and Cohen Newberg bounced back with a 6-4 win at No. 2. Jack Michaud and Logan Carroll claimed a win at No. 3 via walkover, giving UW-Eau Claire momentum heading into singles.
The Blugolds carried that energy into singles, sweeping all six flights. Danylo Ripeckyj started strong at No. 1 with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Eli Bartek, while Emilio Monge earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2. Logan Carroll defeated Jack Forlenza 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3, and Jack Michaud topped Shawn Smith 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Ethan Heidtke and Avery Ellison each picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6 via walkover, completing the team's dominant singles performance.
