BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (www.blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's track and field team competed at day two of the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Birmingham Cross Plex.
Gage Stankiewicz was the lone Blugold to find the top of the podium as the senior was crowned an individual champion for the first time in his career. As a team, UW-Eau Claire placed fourth overall with 32 points and eight All-Americans.
Gage Stankiewicz was victorious in the shot put after his runner up performance in the weight throw on Friday. Stankiewicz tallied the field's top mark in the second round with a throw of 18.52 meters to solidify himself as a national champion.
In the men's heptathlon,
Jace Stolte held on to his third place finish after day one to earn his first career All-America honors. After placing 11th in the 60m hurdles and 13th in the pole vault, Stolte dropped to fifth overall. In the final event, the 1000 meter run, Stolte placed 6th out of 19 competitors to finish the weekend in third place. During his first appearance at nationals, Jace hit personal bests in the 1000 meter run, the pole vault, the 60m hurdles, the high jump, and the 60 meter dash.
Blake Postler earned his second and third All-America honors with a fifth place finish in the 60m hurdles and a podium finish in the 4x400 relay. Postler anchored the team of
Cameron Pease,
Izaak Clendenning, and Nick Odom as the foursome finished fifth overall with a final time of 3:13.78. The podium finish served as Pease's and Odom's first All-America honors and Clendenning's second.
The Blugolds will take time off with spring break next week and will back in April for the 2026 Outdoor season. First meet of the campaign is scheduled for April 3 on the campus of UW-La Crosse.
