The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team swept Ripon College 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the John and Fay Menard Tennis Center.
The day began with a strong day in doubles play for the men. The first doubles match was competitive, but ended with
Billy Hughes and
Ethan Leeser winning their match 6-4. Next in doubles,
Sam Murillo and
Peyton Sheffert played a dominant match winning 6-0. Lastly in doubles,
Avery Ellison and
Cohen Newberg wone their match 6-1.
In singles play, the Blugolds picked up right where they left off in doubles play, winning all six of their matches. Danylo Ripeckyj led things off in a strong way winning both sets 6-1, and 6-0.
Emilio Monge faced tough competition in his second set, but ultimately won 6-0, 7-6.
Andrew Mueller continued the winning ways winning his match 6-0, and 6-2. Next, both of
Jack Michaud, Logan Carrol, took down their oponent with a clean 6-0, 6-0 victory. Finally, Ethan Heiddtke won his match 6-2, 6-0.
The Blugolds will be back at it Friday, March 6th at 6:00 PM as they play host to UW-Whitewater for a conference dual.Â
