LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire secured multiple top finishes at the UW-La Crosse Caged Eagle Invite, highlighted by first-place victories in the men's 3,000 meters by
Jack Hesse-Withbroe and the men's 60 hurdles by
Blake Postler, along with a standout shot put performance by
Gage Stankiewicz.
The Blugolds delivered strong performances across multiple events.
Jackson Schulz and
Reilly Templeton advanced to the finals in the Men's 60 Meters, finishing fifth and eighth with times of 6.92 and 7.02, respectively. In the Men's 200 Meters, Nick Odom secured a fifth-place finish with a time of 21.98, showcasing his consistent speed. The team excelled in the Men's 60 Hurdles, where
Blake Postler claimed the top spot with a time of 8.03, followed closely by
Tyler Botz, who finished second in 8.21.
Jesse Hesse-Withbroe earned first place in the Men's 3000 Meters, completing the race in 8:40.18. The Men's 4x400 Relay team, composed of
Cameron Pease, Riley Templeton, Nick Odom, and
Blake Postler, clinched first place with a time of 3:14.31, highlighting the group's coordination and strength. In the field events, Stankiewicz dominated the Men's Shot Put with a mark of 18.81 meters, while
Soren Johnson placed fourth in the Men's Weight Throw, reaching 18.75 meters. These performances contributed to a successful outing for the Blugolds.
In the field events, both
Leo Orlikowski and
Brad Roe achieved a mark of 1.90m in the High Jump, placing 5th and 6th, respectively.
Johnny Botsch cleared 4.79m in the Pole Vault, landing him in 5th place.
Gage Stankiewicz won the Shot Put with a mark of 18.81m, while in the Weight Throw,
Soren Johnson placed 4th with a mark of 18.75m.
The Blugolds will gear up for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Championships on February 27-28 in Platteville, Wis. First events on Friday are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
