EAU CLAIRE, Wis. —
Reegan Werner (Jr. - Farmington, Minn.) set new program records for single-game goals and points as the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team defeated Edgewood College 25-3 on Friday at the Sonnentag Fieldhouse. Werner had nine goals and 12 points to break the school records for each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Werner had nine goals and three assists. She broke the previous record of eight goals and 11 points, both set by Becky Goetsch in a 2022 game against Edgewood.
- The Blugolds (3-0) scored the first 12 goals of the game on Friday and never looked back. UW-Eau Claire outscored Edgewood (0-3) 10-0 in the opening quarter and held the Eagles scoreless for the first 24-plus minutes of the game.
- Four different Blugolds had multi-goal games. Werner's nine goals led the way, and UW-Eau Claire also got four goals apiece from Devon Crews (Jr. - St. Louis, Mo./Rockwood Summit) and Ellie Fisher (So. - Stillwater, Minn.). Alexie Romanelli (Sr. - Naperville, Ill./Central) added three goals.
- Ella Novak (Sr. - Columbia, Md.) and Paige Kiani (So. - New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) chipped in with three points each. Kiani had seven draw controls.
- Alexandria Shea (Sr. - Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail) made six saves in net to earn her third win of the season.
- The Blugolds came one goal shy of tying the program scoring record of 26. They tied the program record with 49 shots.
- Fisher and Olivia Lockwood (Fr. - Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) had seven ground balls apiece. The Blugolds tallied 41 as a team.

The Blugolds will open up Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play against 17th-ranked Colorado College on Sunday, March 9. Game time is at 12 p.m. at the Sonnentag Fieldhouse.
