EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team fell to Colorado College with a final score of 5–18 on Friday at Simpson Field in the WIAC Tournament Semifinals. Despite the defeat, the Blugolds managed to net two goals from free-position shots.
The first quarter began with a strong start for UW-Eau Claire as
Kenzie Phillips scored the opening goal at 14:45, assisted by
Reegan Werner. However, Colorado College responded swiftly, equalizing at 13:06. The Tigers then gained momentum, with a pair of goals, the latter from a free-position shot, to extend their lead. Further goals by Colorado College capped a dominant period for the Tigers, ending with a 6–1 advantage over UW-Eau Claire.
Colorado College extended its lead with a strong showing in the second quarter, beginning with a player-up goal from a free-position shot at 12:39. The Tigers quickly followed with another goal at 12:03, increasing the pressure on UW-Eau Claire.
Grace Schmidt responded for the Blugolds, scoring with an assist from
Kenzie Phillips at 9:25 to narrow the gap. However, the Tigers regained momentum when they scored at 4:00, followed by a late free-position goal with just 16 seconds remaining in the quarter, concluding the period with a 4-1 run in favor of Colorado College and a 10-2 deficit for Eau Claire.
UWEC opened the third quarter with a goal by
Grace Schmidt at 14:04, assisted by
Emerson Mattox, narrowing the deficit. However, Colorado College quickly responded with a goal at 10:48. Another goal at 7:58 added to Colorado College's lead. Despite a timeout by UW-Eau Claire, Colorado College scored on a free-position attempt at 6:09 and another goal by the Tigers at 2:50. The Blugolds'
Reegan Werner managed a free-position goal at 2:09, concluding the period with the score at 14–4 in favor of Colorado College.
In the fourth quarter, Colorado College extended its lead with a player-up goal just 24 seconds in and another goal at 12:50. UW-Eau Claire responded with a goal by
Reegan Werner from a free-position shot at 7:39. Colorado College maintained its momentum, with a player-down goal at 3:14, and added another at 1:12. The period ended with Colorado College securing a decisive 18–5 victory.

Kenzie Phillips added to the scoring with one goal and one assist while also securing three draw controls. In goal,
Lizzy Schoknecht made nine saves on 30 shots faced, providing a strong defensive presence.
The Blugolds finish their season with an overall record of 8-6 and a conference record of 5-3.
