MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's track and field team's Johnny Botsch (Fr. – Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year for the 2025 indoor season. The WIAC announced its indoor awards on Friday.

Botsch won the conference title in the pole vault on February 28. He hit a mark of 5.06 meters, which set a new school record in the event. In doing so, he became the Blugolds' first men's indoor pole vault WIAC champion since 2022.

Botsch's 5.06-meter mark was the best vault by a WIAC athlete this indoor season.
