EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team defeated Hamline 188.950-183.550 on Friday at the McPhee Center. The Blugolds set a new school record on the uneven bars to highlight a dominant performance in their final home dual of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-Eau Claire posted the higher team score in all four events. Individually, the Blugolds won three of four events.
- The Blugolds set a new program record with a score of 47.600 on the uneven bars. It beat the record of 47.250 that stood for nine years.
- Rachel Hettiarachchy (Jr. – Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) posted the top score for UW-Eau Claire on the uneven bars. She tallied a 9.650, which tied for the third-best score on the bars in program history. Cadence Cordova (So. – Boise, Idaho/Renaissance) and Brooklyn Einck (Jr. – Olathe, Kan./Blue Valley West) both added a 9.600 for the Blugolds, which tied for the fifth-highest bars scores in Blugold history.
- Cordova led the Blugolds on the vault. She scored a 9.550 to win the event individually. UW-Eau Claire scored a 46.625 as a team.
- UW-Eau Claire posted a 47.350 on the beam. Linnea Vasali (So. – York, Pa./Central York) led the way with a 9.625 to win the event.
- The Blugolds closed their night with a 47.375 on the floor. Kelsey Donovan (Sr. – Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard East) won the event with a 9.625.
- UW-Eau Claire celebrated its seniors after the dual's conclusion.
