MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams sent several throwers to compete in the University of Minnesota's Snowshoe Open on Friday. The Blugolds won one event at the meet and had multiple top-five finishes to continue a strong indoor season.
Adam Strouf (Sr. – Rice Lake, Wis.) won the men's shot put with a heave of 17.88 meters. It was the best throw in Division III this season, and stands as Strouf's season best.
Strouf was also the top Blugold in the men's weight throw, placing eighth.
On the women's side,
Kayla Behnke (Sr. – Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) took fourth in the shot put to lead the Blugolds. She also placed fifth in the weight throw.
Teagan Jones (Sr. – Lake Zurich, Ill.) placed fourth in the weight throw.

The Blugolds will head to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on Feb. 28-March 1 in Stevens Point. The meet begins at 11:30 a.m. on February 28.
