MUNCIE, Ind. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team competed against three NCAA Division I opponents on Sunday at the Ball State Quad at Worthen Arena. The Blugolds tallied a team score of 181.500 and finished in fourth place at the meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ball State won the meet with a score of 194.450. Illinois took second at 194.175, and Southeast Missouri State placed third at 189.750.
- UW-Eau Claire's top performances came on the vault. The Blugolds scored a 47.625 in the event, led by a 9.625 from Harriet Toth (Sr. - Regina, Saskatchewan/Martin). Her score tied for the fourth-highest ever produced by a Blugold gymnast on the vault. She took 15th overall in the event. Grace Gerster (Fr. - Hampton, Minn./Randolph) scored a 9.575 to tie for 16th.
- The Blugolds scored a 45.125 on the uneven bars, led by a 9.400 by Ella Montgomery (Fr. - Edina, Minn.). That was good for 13th overall.
- The team tallied a 44.200 on the beam. Meghan Dahlin (So. - Holly, Mich.) posted the Blugolds' top score individually at 9.225, which tied for 14th overall.
- UW-Eau Claire posted a 44.550 in the floor exercise, led by a score of 9.500 from Kelsey Donovan (Sr. - Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard East) — good for 18th overall.

UW-Eau Claire has its home opener when it hosts UW-La Crosse for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual on Friday, January 17. The dual is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the McPhee Center. The Blugolds will be hosting Youth Night that evening.
