PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - ?The UWEC Track & Field Team's competed in the WIAC Championships this past weekend. As the dust settled on the track, the women's team finished in second place as a team with 169.75pts and the men's team finished in third with 120.5pts. 

?Casey Chadwick coached two Javelin throwers to become conference champs this weekend with freshman, Laura Bertrang, winning the event for the women with a mark of 39.82m and Tommy Mestnik winning the men's competition with a heave of 56.69m. 

?Yakob Ekoue took the crown in Discus (52.89m), placed second in Hammer (59.27m), and third in Shot Put (16.80m). Yakob will look to place highly in all three at the NCAA National Championships. For women's throws, Kayla Behnke led the way with her win in Discus with a heave of 45.86m. The women's throwers combined for 63pts, accounting for over ? of the teams total points. 
?The women's heptathletes found success with three girls throwing down national qualifying multis. Emma Gruen, Jane Kautz, and Lauryn Rustad all likely punched their tickets to NCAAs later this month.
