LA CROSSE, Wis. - (blugolds.come) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire track and field teams were back on the track this past Friday at two separate meets: The St. Francis Fighting Last Chance Invite and the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open. Down at the St. Francis meet in Illinois, Mason Shea ran a season best in the 3k Steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 9:00.80s. This time will put Shea in contention to compete at the NCAA Championships later this month. At the Eagle Open, the men's 4x100m broke the school record for the second week in a row! The team of Piontek, Odom, Jankuski, and Klechefski finished second in the meet with a time of 40.44s. Freshman sprinter, Ally Kakes, also placed second with a time of 22.74s in her event, the 200m dash. Josiah Ziebell won the 400m Hurdles with an impressive time of 54.26s. Tommy Mestnik won the Javelin with a heave of 51.45m.
