ST. PAUL, Minn. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team got back on track with a 16-5 victory over Hamline University on Tuesday at Klas Field. The Blugolds held the Pipers scoreless in the second half to clinch a nonconference win.
UW-Eau Claire (8-2, 0-1) held a 7-5 lead at halftime, but didn't budge defensively in the second half to see out the victory. The Blugolds scored six times in the third quarter to pull away.
Reegan Werner (So. – Farmington, Minn.) led UW-Eau Claire with seven points, scoring four goals and assisting three others. Her seven points tied for the fourth-best single game mark in program history.
Lily Zygowicz (So. – Lafayette, Colo./Centaurus) and
Victoria Shea (Fr. – Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail) added three points apiece for the Blugolds.
Alexandria Shea (Jr. – Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) made six saves in goal for the Blugolds and didn't allow a goal across the final 34-plus minutes of the game.

UW-Eau Claire is right back in action on Wednesday, April 10. The Blugolds host UW-River Falls in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) contest at Simpson Field at 5 p.m. It will be the first WIAC women's lacrosse game ever played at Simpson Field.
