La Crosse, Wis. (www.blugolds.com) - The University of Wisocnsin-Eau Claire track and field teams were back in action this weekend at the Phil Esten Challenge at UW-La Crosse. Mitch Stegeman led the way for the decathletes placing first with a score of 6871 points. Max Foland was close behind Mitch, finishing in third place. Emilee Booker bested the field of heptathletes with her winning score of 3414 points. Yakob Ekoue won another triple crown, winning the Shot Put (17.29m), Hammer Throw (58.19m), and Discus (53.47m). On the women's side, Kayla Behnke won the Discus with a heave of 45.71m and Teagan Jones won the Hammer Throw with a mark of 55.91m. Teagan warmed up with throws of 60+ meters showing there's much more in the tank for her. Both the men's and women's teams placed second overall at the meet, the men's team scored 145pts and the women's team scored 122pts.
