EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team dropped a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual to UW-Whitewater 9-0 on Saturday at Memorial High School.
The Blugolds battled but dropped to 1-1 in WIAC play. Their best fight came at No. 3 doubles, where
Ethan Wurtzel (Sr. - Menomonie, Wis.) and
Andrew Mueller (Jr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) narrowly fell 8-6. The longest singles match came in the No. 5 flight, where Wurtzel fell 6-2, 6-3.
UW-Eau Claire will look to bounce back with a home dual against UW-La Crosse on Sunday, April 14. The Blugolds host the Eagles at Memorial High School beginning at 12 p.m.
