ST. PAUL, Minn. (
www.blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team began their postseason run on Saturday with the 2024 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships and National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional on the campus of Hamline University.
Harriet Toth (Jr. – Regina, Saskatchewan/Martin) was the lone Blugold on the podium as UW-Eau Claire finished 6
th with 187.050 points.
Kicking off the afternoon, the Blugolds started their rotations on the beam during the eight team meet.
Linnea Vasali (Fr. – York, Pa./Central York) posted the top UWEC of the day on the beam with a 9.600 and a 10
th place finish.
Tia Ravara (Sr. – San Leandro, Calif./Bishop O'Dowd) tied for 22
nd out of the 48 competitors with a 9.475.
Harriet Toth got her all-around routine started with a 9.400 and a tie for 27
th.
UW-Eau Claire then transitioned to the floor as
Molly Campbell (So. – Lincoln, Neb./Northeast) tied for 13
th with her 9.625.
Addie Gallun (Fr. – Milwaukee, Wis./Whitefish Bay) and followed Campbell's top Blugold score with a 9.575 from Gallun and a 9.450 form O'Connell.
Harriet Toth earned a 9.325 as she kept things rolling.
On the vault, Toth recorded her high score of the afternoon with a 9.500 and a tied for 25
th place. On the bars, Toth recorded a 9.400 to earn 37.625 total points and a 4
th place podium finish in the all-around competition.
After the meet,
Harriet Toth was named the 2024 WIAC Gymnast of the Year.
The Blugolds will wait for the NCGA National Championship qualifying lists to be released on Sunday, March 10
th to learn who will travel to Ursinus College for the national meet. Competitor lists are expected to be released to the public at 6 p.m.
