EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's basketball player Carter Huschka (Sr. - Farmington, Minn.) was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 third team on Tuesday. Huschka's selection marks the second straight year the Blugolds have produced an all-region honoree.

Huschka, a forward, was one of only four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) men's basketball players to land on the All-Region teams. He led the WIAC in rebounding average with 7.9 rebounds per contest this season. He ranked third in the conference in scoring with 16.5 points per game. Huschka also averaged 2.4 assists per contest. He had five double-doubles this season and scored in double figures in 23 games. He closed the year with 21 points and 17 rebounds in a win over UW-La Crosse.

Huschka's exploits on the defensive end of the court landed him on the WIAC's All-Defensive Team. He blocked 29 shots this year and made 26 steals.

It is the first career All-Region honor for Huschka.
