MENOMONIE, Wis. (
www.blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team was back on the road Friday for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual against UW-Stout. Despite solid performances on the vault and floor, the Blugolds fell to the Blue Devils, 182.225-187.600.
During the opening rotation,
Tia Ravara (Sr. – San Leandro, Calif./Bishop O' Dowd) and
Madison Daly (Fr. – Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde) posted top scores on the bars. Ravara placed 2
nd on the night with a 9.300 and Daly finished 3
rd with a 9.250.
Ava Obermoller (So. – Hawley, Minn.) and
Molly Campbell (So. – Lincoln, Neb./Northeast) rounded out the top-8 for UWEC with Obermoller's 8.600 and Campbell's 8.550.
On the vault,
Harriet Toth (Jr. – Regina, Saskatchewan/Matin) held the top score for Eau Claire with a 9.375 and a 5
th place finish.
Andrea O'Connell recorded the next highest UWEC score with a 9.275 and a 7
th place finish. The Blugolds finished the night with a team total of 46.000 points on the vault.
The floor routines were spearheaded by
Molly Campbell who took the crown on the night with a 9.650.
Harriet Toth and
Andrea O'Connell finished 6
th and 7
th respectively with a 9.475 and a 9.450. On the beam,
Meghan Dahlin (Fr. – Holly, Mich.) posted a 9.525 for Eau Claire's highest score of the night while finishing 4
th amongst all athletes.
Amongst the All-Around competitors,
Molly Campbell finished 2
nd with 36.100 points and
Harriet Toth finished 3
rd with 36.025 points.
The Blugolds will jump right back into WIAC contests on Friday, February 2
nd when they travel to La Crosse, Wis. The first rotation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Mitchell Hall Gymnasium.
