EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) The 2023 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Of the recipients, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire had four football players honored for their hard work on the field and in the classroom.
Representing UW-Eau Claire on the 2023 Academic All-District® Football team was
David Antoine (Jr. - Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandberg),
Trey Fitzgerald (Jr. - Mosinee, Wis.),
Hayden Goodman (Jr. - Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi),
Brady Hoffner (So. - Mankato, Minn./Mankato East),
Thomas Kroymann (Sr. - Austin, Minn.),
Ryan Kuechle (Sr. - Mankato, Minn./Mankato East),
Harry Roubidoux (Jr. - Winneconne, Wis.), and
Jake Thompson (Jr. - Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi).
Qualifications for the CSC Academic All-District team was a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and the individuals must have played in 90% of the institution's games/contests or must have started in at least 66 percent of the games/contests. Institutions were limited to 8 entries for the 2023 Football season.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 23, 2024.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are financially supported in part by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
