LA CROSSE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team was on the road for the first time in 2022. As the Blugolds faced off against the UW-La Crosse Eagles, UWEC held the top scores in two events despite falling 188.450-180.200.
Results
Tia Ravara (So. – San Leandro, CA/Bishop O'Dowd) captured her second straight first place finish on the beam with a top score of 9.650. A week ago, Ravara posted a 9.450 against UW-Oshkosh at home.
Four other Blugolds posted top-5 scores in their event. Andrea O'Connell (Fr. – Blue Mounds, WI/Mount Horeb) and Bailey Davidson (Sr. – Eagan, MN/Eastview) placed fourth and fifth respectively with their floor routines. Christina Leikam (Jr. – Aurora, CO/Cherokee Trail) tied for fifth on the beam and Andrea Gessner (Sr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) finished fifth on the vault.
The Blugolds will be back in action on Friday, February 4th when they travel to Menomonie, WI. The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) against UW-Stout is scheduled for 6PM.
