Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team downed Hamline University 7-2 on February 16th. The Blugolds improve to 5-0 on the season with the victory.

The Blugolds dropped the first doubles match but bounced back to win at number two and three doubles. Zach Janssen (Green Bay, Wis. / Notre Dame) and Grant Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.)won convincingly at the number two doubles slot while and Evan Fridinger (Woodbury, Minn. /Eastridge) and Jackson Lindquist (Eau Claire, Wis. /North) earned an 8-0 victory at number three doubles.
In singles action, Andrew Dahl (Fort Atkinson,Wis.) got the Blugolds jump started with a 6-4,7-5 triumph at number two singles. Mauthe defeated Kuether (HUM)6-0, 6-1 at the three spot, while Daniel Schoen (Brookfield,Wis.)made quick work of Bale (HUM) 6-1, 6-3 at the four spot. Renan Barros (Itajai, Santa Catarina, Brazil) and Dane Steidl (Wisconsin Rapids,Wis.) both earned another win at the five and six spots, respectively.
The Blugolds will look to keep their win streak going tomorrow at the Eau Claire YMCA. Eau Claire will host Crown College at 9:00am and then will face Carelton at 3:00pm.
