Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team defeated St. Olaf (MN) 8-1 on April 1. 

Results:

The Blugolds opened up the dual with a doubles sweep. Michael Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.) and Renan Barros (Brazil) defeated Beck/Hogan (St.O) at No.1 doubles 8-4, while Will Weyenberg (Neenah, Wis.) with partner Daniel Schoen (Brookfield,Wis.) earned an 8-2 victory at the No. 2 doubles slot. Conrad Felten (Wausau, Wis.) and Zach Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win over Hohenshell/Prokosch (St.O). 

In singles action, Daniel Schoen won convincingly at No. 2 singles. First year Zach Janssen earned a 4-6, 6-2, 10-2 victory over Hohenshell (St.O) in the No. 3 singles slot. Renan Barros defeated Loken (St.O) 6-4, 6-1 while Dane Steidl (Wisconsin Rapids,Wis.) earned a 2-6, 6-3, 10-8  win at No. 5 singles. August Badura (Oconomowoc, Wis.) dominated at the No. 6 singles slot, winning 6-1, 6-3. 

The Blugold men, now 12-5 overall will travel to the Racine Tennis Club to face Carthage College on Friday, April 7.
