Glendale, AZ (Blugolds.com)- The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team took to the road traveling to Arizona for matches over spring break. The Blugolds opened up the week with a dominating win over Glendale Community College 8-1.

At number two singles, Michael Mauthe (Jr. Neenah, Wis.) defeated S. Garcia, 6-4, 6-1, while Will Weyenberg (Jr. Neenah, Wis.) won 6-1, 6-0 at number three singles, defeating R. Costello.

At number four singles, Daniel Schoen (Fr, Brookfield, Wis.) defeated J. Chino 6-3, 6-2 and August Badora (Fr. Oconomowoc, Wis.)  beat L. Rodriguez at number five singles, 6-1, 6-1. Jordan Stevens (Sr. Woodbury, Minn.) finished out singles play with a win over Y. Laveaga 6-0, 6-0. 

In doubles action, Kyle Hoffmann (Sr. Franklin, Wis.) and Mauthe defeated Garcia and N. Silvestri  8-2 at number one while Weyenberg and Stevens beat Costella and Rodriguez 8-0 at number two.

The Blugolds swept Glendale in doubles, with Badora and Schoen finishing the doubles sweep with a 8-2 win over Chino and Laveaga 

The Blugolds will be back in action against Paradise Valley Community College (AZ) Monday, March 21.
