MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team won their eighth straight match and improved to 10-3 as the Blugolds defeated Augustana, 7-2 on Friday.

At number two singles, Will Weyenberg (So. Neenah, Wis.) defeated Eric Pohl, 6-1, 7-5 while  Michael Mauthe (So. Neenah, Wis.) claimed a victory at number four, beating Patrick Lenz, 7-6, 1-6, 7-5.

At the number five singles spot, Andrew Dahl (Fr. Fort Atkinson, Wis.) defeated Harald Olsson 6-3, 6-1 and Jordon Stevens (Jr. Woodbury, Minn.) added the last singles victory at number six, defeating Connor Woolf, 1-6, 7-5, 10-4.

In doubles, Kyle Hoffmann (Jr. Franklin, Wis.) and Dahl defeated Samuel Totten and Pohl, 8-5 at the number one spot.

At number two doubles, Weyenberg and Andrew Rust (Fr. Golden Valley, Minn.) defeated Woolf and Lawrence Palmer, 8-3 while Stevens and Mauthe completed the doubles sweep, defeating Schoeck and Olsson, 8-4.

The Blugolds will be back in action Saturday as they take on Cardinal Stritch at 10 a.m.
