Men's Tennis Closes Spring Break with 5-4 Loss to Carleton

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team fell narrowly, 5-4, to Carleton College (Minn.) on the final day of its Spring Break trip.

Eau Claire won two doubles matches to start the day but won only two out of six singles matches.

In No. 1 doubles, Chris Kuna (Sr.-Edina, Minn.) and Joey Minear (Fr.-Oronoco, Minn./Rochester Century) won 8-6 while Michael Roden (Fr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and David Stingley (Jr.-St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) won 8-3 at No. 3.

In singles play, Ryan Vande Linde (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 while Roden won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6.

The Blugolds are now 13-5 on the season.

Next weekend the Blugolds will be back in Eau Claire for two matches on Friday and Saturday.
