Biography

Harold "Red" Carroll was inducted into the Blugold Hall of Fame in 1974.

Carroll was captain of the 1921-22 Blugold basketball team that shared a conference championship. He was also captain of the squad his senior year. He quarterbacked the 1922 championship football team. While attending college, he coached the Fall Creek High School basketball team that beat Eau Claire in the sectional and advanced to the state tournament. Carroll became football and basketball coach at Stanley for two years after his graduation. His football team was undefeated both seasons and included a victory over the Eau Claire Senior High team. His basketball team also gained a win over Eau Claire in the sectional tournament. Carroll moved on to the Milwaukee school system where he directed Lincoln High School to seven city championships as head coach in basketball and helped the Comets to two titles in football as an assistant coach. His Milwaukee Boys Club basketball team also won a Midwest championship.
