Stephen Scatassa

Stephen Scatassa enters his third season as pithcing coach in 2022-23 for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire baseball team.

In the summer of 2022, Stephen was hired as the Lead Pitching Coach for Valley Sports Academy in Lake Hallie, WI.

Before his hire to the Blugold staff, Stephen was a coach at St. Jospeh High School and gave lessons at Elite Baseball Training under Justin Stone, the hitting coordinator for the Chicago Cubs. 

Scatassa attended St. Marys University in Winona, MN from 2012-2016. He pitched and played shortstop his first two years, but transitioned into main starting pitcher for the Cardinals in his Junior and Senior years. Scatassa holds multiple collegiate accollades from his time at St. Mary's including 8th in career wins, 6th all time lowest batting average against, 1st in career innings pitched, 3rd in career strike outs, and earned All-Region recognition in 2016.

Originally from Berwyn, IL, Scatassa moved to Westchester IL to attend St. Joseph High school where he played 4 years of varsity baseball as a shortstop and starting pitcher. He received the All-Conference Awards three years and was an All-State Honorable Mention.
