EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team was back in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday with a trip to UW-Whitewater. Despite falling 0-3 in the doubles matches, the Blugolds took four of the six singles matches to earn the 4-3 WIAC win on the road. 

UW-Eau Claire broke a 27 match winless streak on Saturday with wins in four of the six singles matches. After falling 6-0, 6-3, 6-1 in doubles play to begin the match with a 0-1 deficit in team scoring, UWEC stormed back in singles play. 
 
Aubrey Wittwer earned the first UWEC point at No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Delaney Hanson followed things up with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles, securing a second team point for the Blugolds. 

UW-Whitewater was victorious in the No. 1 and 2 singles positions, earning the Warhawks a 3-2 lead as the afternoon went on. Reese Keller would tie things up for the Blugolds at No. 3 singles with a momentum building 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 comeback victory to tie the score at 3-3. With one final match left, Brooke Boland would seal the heroric victory at No. 6 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, to give UWEC their first win over UW-Whitewater in 20 years.

The Blugolds will compete at the Midwest ITA Regional next Friday, September 25th in St. Peter, Minnesota. The Regional lasts until Monday, September 28th.
