EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (
www.blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team began Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play on Friday night as they hosted UW-Stout Polytechnic at the YMCA Menards Tennis Center. For the second time this year, the Blugolds captured a 7-0 sweep at home, winning every single match.
In doubles play,
Magdalena Kristo and
Reese Keller took home the victory in the No. 1 match, 6-1.
Beatriz Felchak and
Brooke Boland defeated Stout at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, while
Kiera Schmid and
Delaney Hanson sealed the team point with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Singles' play saw the Blugolds victorious in all matches as well.
Aubrey Wittwer didn't surrender a single game at No. 4 singles with her 6-0, 6-0 win.
Delaney Hanson only lost a single game at No. 5 singles with her 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Magdalena Kristo was victorious in her WIAC singles debut with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
Beatriz Felchak,
Reese Keller, and
Ana Paula Ricaurte all won their matches to help UW-Eau Claire seal the 7-0 conference win.
The Blugolds (3-0, WIAC 1-0) will be back in WIAC action on Saturday, September 12 when they travel to River Falls, Wis. First serve against UW-River Falls is scheduled for 11 a.m.
