The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over MSOE in nonconference action.
UW-Eau Claire set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. Reese Burton and Beatriz Felchak picked up a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Stella Platt and Kiera Schmid matched that score with a 6-0 victory at No. 2. Ava Pellegrino and Taylor Presler completed the sweep at No. 3 doubles by walkover, giving the Blugolds a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
The Blugolds continued their strong play in singles, winning five of the six matches. Burton was edged in a tight match at No. 1 singles, falling 7-5, 7-5. Marin Catencamp added a point at No. 2 with a 6-2, 6-1 win, while Lily Kennedy earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 3. Pellegrino dominated at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-0 result, and Lauren Kwapil followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5. Presler rounded out the day with a win by walkover at No. 6, sealing the 6-1 team victory for UW-Eau Claire.
