WHEATON, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Wheaton College in a tightly contested match.
UW-Eau Claire dropped the doubles point, falling in two of the three matches. At No. 1, Reese Burton and Beatriz Felchak were defeated 6-4, while Delaney Hanson and Morgan Briggman dropped a 7-5 decision at No. 2. The Blugolds picked up a win at No. 3, where Marin Catencamp and Stella Platt earned a 6-4 victory.
In singles, Eau Claire split the six matches. Beatriz Felchak earned a three-set win at No. 2 (6-4, 4-6, 10-4), while Ana Paula Ricaurte added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4.At No. 5, Delaney Hanson battled to a three-set win (3-6, 7-5, 10-3). At No. 1, Reese Burton fell 6-3, 6-4, while Aubrey Wittwer was defeated 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3. Morgan Briggman also fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.
