EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire fell to UW-Stout 67-63 in a closely contested conference game at the Sonnentag Event Center. The Blugolds' offense was led by seven buckets from beyond the arc, contributing to their 63-point total. Despite holding a narrow lead on eight occasions, Eau Claire was unable to overcome Stout's advantage in points in the paint, which totaled 34.
The game commenced with the Blue Devils taking an early lead, driven by a jumper just 46 seconds in. UWEC responded with two free throws by
Andre Renta to tie the game at 2-2. Stout contributed with both scoring and defensive plays, while a three-pointer extended their lead at the 16:27 mark. The Blugolds fought back, with
Luke Reder hitting a three-pointer to narrow the deficit to 9-7. As the half closed, a jumper with 40 seconds left secured a 29-28 edge for the visitors heading into the break.

Carter Lichtsinn posted a perfect shooting performance, finishing with 13 points on 5-for-5 from the field and collecting nine rebounds, both surpassing his season averages. This marked the second consecutive game where Lichtsinn recorded at least 13 total points. Scales added 11 points, converting all four free-throw attempts and recording four rebounds.
Roan Demovsky contributed nine points and dished out three assists while securing a steal.
Andre Renta made an impact at the line, converting six free throws to finish with eight points and adding two assists.
UW-Eau Claire holds a 13-6 overall record and stands at 2-6 in WIAC play. UW-Stout now has an 8-11 record for the season and is 4-4 in WIAC competition.
