KENOSHA, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team blanked Carthage 7-0 on Sunday at Smeds Tennis Center. The Blugolds won all nine matches to cruise to victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blugolds (11-8) took all three doubles matches, including a 6-1 victory in the top flight by Samantha Fuchs (Sr. - DeForest, Wis.) and Anna Lee (Jr. - Buffalo, Minn.).
- In singles play, five of UW-Eau Claire's six victories came in straight sets.
- Fuchs won the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-3. Lee prevailed at No. 2 6-0, 6-2. Beatriz Felchak (Fr. - Curitiba, Brazil) won the No. 3 match 6-3, 6-1. Liv Herzog (Jr. - Owatonna, Minn.) triumphed 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4, Reese Burton (Fr. - Lakeville, Minn./South) won 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 at No. 5 and Aubrey Wittwer (Fr. - Delano, Minn.) won at No. 6 6-1, 6-2.
