EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams will have one representative each at this season's NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships this week in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Molly Hosack (Jr. – Cedarburg, Wis.) will compete for the Blugold women, while
Blake Wallen (So. – Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) will compete for the Blugold men.
Hosack will swim in the women's 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle. Wallen will compete on the men's one-meter and three-meter diving boards.
Hosack will be in action first, competing in the 500-yard freestyle prelims on the morning of Wednesday, March 19. Wallen will follow shortly after in the trials for men's three-meter diving. The finals for both of those events are slated for later in the evening.
On Day 2 of the meet on Thursday, Hosack competes in the 200-yard freestyle prelims during the morning session. The final is later that night.
Wallen will compete in the one-meter diving trials on Friday morning. The finals are Friday night.
Hosack will close out the meet on Saturday with the 1,650-yard freestyle prelims during the morning. The finals are in the early evening.
Both Blugolds will be making their second career appearance at the NCAA Championships. Hosack took 17th in the 500-yard freestyle and 47th in the 200-yard freestyle last season. She also took 27th as part of the Blugolds' 200-yard freestyle relay. Wallen took 21st in the one-meter diving competition and 22nd in the three-meter event last year.
