ROGERS, Minn. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team fell to No. 33 Bethel (Minn.) 5-2 on Saturday at Rogers Tennis Center. The Blugolds won a pair of singles matches, but it wasn't enough to knock off the nationally ranked Royals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Royals won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles play.
- Samantha Fuchs (Sr. - DeForest, Wis.) earned a victory at No. 1 singles for the Blugolds, prevailing 6-4, 6-0.
- Reese Burton (Fr. - Lakeville, Minn./South) picked up the other win for UW-Eau Claire with a 6-1, 3-6, 10-7 victory at No. 5 singles.
- All of the Royals' singles victories came in straight sets.
