INDIANOLA, Iowa — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire decisively defeated North Central University (MN) 101-58 in a neutral-site matchup at Cowles Fieldhouse on Friday during the Bruce Wilson Shootout hosted by Simpson College. The Blugolds controlled the game from start to finish, leading 50-27 at halftime and extending their lead in the second half. They dominated the paint with 58 points and forced 17 turnovers, converting those into 21 points. The Blugolds' 101 points is the most in program history since 2021.
UW-Eau Claire established an early lead against the Rams with strong performances in the paint, scoring 30 points from close range.
Carter Lichtsinn started the scoring with a layup at 18:47, and
Andre Renta followed with a 3-pointer at 16:15.
Xavier Lewis contributed significantly, adding a layup and assisting on Lichtsinn's dunk at 17:32. UWEC maintained control throughout the half, ending the first half with a 50-27 advantage.
The Blugolds secured a decisive victory by a final score of 101-58. In the second half,
Xavier Lewis was instrumental, contributing 12 points, including a sequence with back-to-back layups at the 17:10 mark.
Andre Renta added to the effort with a three-pointer at 12:40, pushing the lead further. The Rams struggled with turnovers, committing 11 in the half, and couldn't match the home team's scoring efficiency as UWEC shot 61.3% from the field during the half.
Xavier Lewis led the team with 21 points, converting 9 of 11 field goals while grabbing seven rebounds.
Andre Renta contributed 15 points, hitting 5 of 8 shots from the field including three from beyond the arc.
Kenji Scales added 12 points, going perfect from the free-throw line with two successful attempts.
Joey Butz made a notable impact with nine points, converting all three of his attempts from three-point range.
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire holds a 5-0 overall record. The Rams are now 1-4 on the season.
The Blugolds will face the hosts, Simpson College, in the championship game on Saturday, November 22 at 3 p.m.
