BELOIT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (5-1-0, 2-0-0) defeated Beloit (1-5-0, 0-2-0), 7–0, at Beloit, Wisconsin. The Blugolds' offense fired 54 shots on goal and secured the win with scoring contributions from multiple skaters.
The first period commenced with UW-Eau Claire taking an early lead against Beloit, as
Keira Bolt scored at 2:04 with assists from
Jordan Hancock and
Gretta Pioske. The visitors capitalized on their momentum, adding a second goal at 13:41 when
Allie LeClaire converted with help from
Rachel Mirwald and
Maddie Hulter. With just 32 seconds left in the period,
Ashley Wagenbach extended the lead to 3–0, assisted by Pioske. Despite Beloit's attempts, including a penalty kill and several saves by Maddy Bliss, the Blugolds maintained control throughout the period.
UW-Eau Claire extended their lead in the second period with three unanswered goals against Beloit. LeClaire opened the scoring at 15:29, assisted by
Jana Lesch and Mirwald, to make it 4–0.
Ava Bullert further increased the margin at 8:09, with an assist from
Kylie Wiltse, taking the score to 5–0. Lesch then added another goal at 5:42, assisted by
Adrienne Hansen and
McKenna Sandberg, bringing the score to 6–0. UWEC consistently pressured Beloit's defense, highlighted by multiple saves from Bliss, who faced a barrage of shots throughout the period.
The Blugolds extended their lead early in the third period with a goal by
Lauren Ballinger at 19:30, assisted by Ava and
Gabi Bullert. Despite Beloit's efforts to respond, UWEC maintained control, consistently pressuring Bliss with shots on goal. The period featured several power play opportunities for both teams, but neither side capitalized. The game concluded with UW-Eau Claire securing a decisive 7-0 victory.
Ava Bullert scored one goal and added an assist, finishing with a perfect face-off percentage. Bolt netted one goal, which was the game-winner, on six shots. Ballinger recorded one goal and won 13 face-offs, maintaining a 56 percent win rate. LeClaire tallied two goals on four shots, contributing significantly to the team's scoring efforts.
The Blugolds improve to 5-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play after their victory. Beloit falls to 1-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in league competition following the loss.
