STEVENS POINT, Wis. — UW-Eau Claire defeated UW-Stevens Point 3-0 on Thursday to cap off their regular season. Eau Claire's
Ramzi Ouro scored three second-half goals, securing his first shutout in a Blugold kit and the clean sheet. With the win, UWEC captured at least a share of the WIAC Regular Season Title and solidified the top seed in the conference postseason tournament.
The first half began with both teams testing each other's defenses, as UW-Eau Claire aimed to gain the upper hand.
Charlie Mroz made an early save against a shot from the Pointers, keeping the game level.
Tate McDermott and
Owen Williams each took attempts to break the deadlock, while
Noah Malcook and
Alvaro Alanis contributed additional efforts near the end of the period. Despite several fouls by both teams, neither side managed to find the back of the net. The period concluded with the score tied at 0-0, setting the stage for a closely contested match moving forward.
The Blugolds seized control early in the second period with
Ramzi Ouro scoring in the 47th minute, assisted by
Tate McDermott and
Noah Malcook, to open the scoring. The team maintained pressure, resulting in another goal from
Ramzi Ouro in the 62nd minute, following assists by
Alek Laroi and
Carson Kowalski. Despite defensive fouls, UW-Eau Claire capitalized on their offensive momentum and numerical advantage after a Pointers player received a red card.
As the second period progressed, UWEC continued to dominate the field.
Ramzi Ouro completed his hat trick in the 85th minute with an assist from
Aiden Judickas, extending the lead to 3-0. The team's defense held strong, preventing the Pointers from finding the back of the net. The Blugolds concluded the match with a commanding 3-0 victory, effectively closing out the period and securing the win.

UW-Eau Claire improved to 10-2-4 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play to finish their regular season schedule. The Pointers fell to 12-3-3 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.
The Blugolds will host the semifinal round of the WIAC Championship on Thursday, November 6 at Simpson Field. Kickoff and their opponent have yet to be determined.
