Eau Claire, Wis.— The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams started their seasons off strong, beating UW-Oshkosh in a pair of duals. The men defeated the Titans 184-51, while the women won 178-65.
Women's diving had a stellar day in both events.
Ella Josephs placed first in both the 1 meter and the 3 meter.
Jordan Kuhn placed second in both diving events, and
Julia Schluter placed third in the 1 meter.
Men's diving also had a strong performance in both their events.
Charlie Nohner placed first in the 3 meter and placed second in the 1 meter. Inversely,
Tait Johnson placed First in the 1 meter and second in the 3 meter.
Women's swim dominated their events. The Blugolds placed first in the 200 yard medley relay with a team of
Mehal Raghwani,
Amber Winter,
Abby Voelker, and
Grace Schnabl. The team also places in the top four positions for the 200 yard freestyle relay, led by a team of
Faith Oswald,
Madeleine Hammond,
Anwen Smith, and
Grace Schnabl. For individual events, the women's team placed first in every event but two, and placed podium on all events.
Men's swim was also dominant in their events. The team of
Henry Williams,
Jack Gunderson,
Evan Bushko, and
Drew Testin placed first in the 200 yard medley relay. The Blugolds followed that team places in the next three positions. UW-Eau Claire mirrored that performance with a first place finish from
Drew Testin,
Todd O'Connor,
Henry Botten, and
Evan Bushko in the 200 yard freestyle relay, and placed in the next three positions again. The men's team also placed first in each of their individual events, for a huge day across the board.
Blugold swim and dive wont be back at it until Saturday, November 1st at UW-La Crosse.
