ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team was back on the road Saturday with a nonconference matchup with Hamline University at the TRIA Rink.
Despite finding the game's first goal in the second period, the Blugolds found no answer on Hamline's two goals in the second and an empty net goal in the third period.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Eli Reimer (So. – Lansing, Mich./Grand Ledge) continued his hot weekend with a power play goal minutes into the second period. Reimer finished the road weekend with four goals.
- Carter Bradley (Fr. – St. Louis, Mo./Oakville) and Colin Stein (Sr. – Pewaukee, Wis.) both received assists on the lone Blugold goal of the evening. The defensive pair have earned at least a single point each in the last three games.
- The Blugolds (6-10-1) continued to battle in the second and third period as the outshot the Pipers (6-11-0) 27-20.
- Special teams' play was prevalent throughout the contest as the game saw six penalties. UW-Eau Claire converted the lone power play goal of the night on their four opportunities. Hamline went 0 for 2 on their man advantages.

The Blugolds will resume Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play on Friday, January 24
th for a road weekend series against Northland College. Puck drops at the Bay Area Civic Center are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
