EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team fell at the hands of Milwaukee School of Engineering 2-0 on Friday at Hobbs Ice Arena. In a physical, hard-fought game, the Blugolds couldn't find the back of the net and were shut out for the third time this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (6-7-1) scored once in the first period and again in the second. It was enough offense for their goalie, who stopped 22 shots from the Blugolds (5-7-1).
- MSOE got on the board late in the first period, scoring with 2:16 left on the clock.
- The Raiders doubled their lead just over seven and a half minutes into the second period.
- The game featured 10 power plays between the two teams, but neither side was able to capitalize.
- Max Gutjahr (Jr. - Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) made 16 saves in goal for UW-Eau Claire.

The two-game series will resume on Saturday, January 11 at Hobbs Ice Arena. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
