NORTHFIELD, Minn. (
www.blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire Men's Cross Country team was on the road for the first time this season at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday. With a total score of 53 points, the Blugolds made the podium with an impressive 2nd place finish as a team, and placed 8 individuals in the top 30.
Mason Shea (Sr. - River Fall, Wis.) came in first for the team with a time of 25:16, placing 3rd place overall. The rest of the Blugolds' top-5 finishers were
Jesse Peterson (Sr. - St. Paul, Minn.) with a time of 25:59,
Trevor LaMirande (Sr. - Dresser, Wis.) with a time of 26:02,
Jack Hesse-Withbroe (Jr. - Stillwater, Minn.) at 26:04, and
Cooper Feltz (Jr. - Germantown, Wis.) with a time of 26:16. After the race, head coach
Dan Schwamberger was pleased with the gameplan his team put forth saying, "The plan for this race was to pace the first 3200 and focus on working with workout groups. They executed perfectly and really worked together well."
The Blugolds will be back in action at the Blugold Invite at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis. on Friday, October 4th with the men's 8k starting at 5:15 pm.Â
