NAPERVILLE, Ill. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team was back on the road Friday as they began play in the North Central Invitational hosted by North Central College. UW-Eau Claire squared off with nonconference opponent Albion College and played to a 1-1 draw.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Elise Pinewski (Sr. – Anoka, Wis.) got the Blugolds on the board first in the 13^th minute with her first goal of the season. Pinewski added two shots on goal during her 45 minutes of play as Eau Claire out shot Albion 10-2 during the afternoon contest.
• Johanna Thompson (Fr. – Green Bay, Wis.) spearheaded the Blugold attack with a team leading three shots on goal. Kori Millis (Sr. – Shakopee, Minn.) and Emma Donovan (Fr. – Hazel Green, Wis./Wahlert Catholic) added to the Blugold offense with two shots on goal each.
• Kennedy Boll (Sr. – Franklin, Wis.) and Bella Jones (So. – Neenah, Wis.) each played one half as Jones made the lone save of the afternoon. Boll was credited with the draw and is now 2-2-1 on the year.

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Blugolds (2-2-1) will stay in Illinois for their second game of the North Central Invitational on Saturday, September 14^th when they take on the hosts, North Central. Kick off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
